Planting is a breeze with a recommended seeding depth of 1-1/2 inches and a seeding date in late summer or early fall. Each 9 lb bag can seed 1/8 acre, with a seeding rate of 72-80 lb/ac. Winter hardy and some species even overwinter into the spring, ensuring a continuous food source for deer. Soil testing is recommended for optimal lime and fertilizer recommendations, but if unavailable, apply a balanced 50-30-30 (N-P2O5-K20) mix at planting.
