Big Bluestem Native Grass Seed - 2 lb pure live seed. Big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii) is a warm-season bunchgrass that grows between 4-8 feet tall. It makes great wildlife habitat. A host of animals will use it for cover, especially pheasants and whitetail deer. It is a staple for whitetail hunters when it comes to creating bedding areas. It will last many years if well cared for.
Seeding Depth: 1/4 - 1/2 inch. Seeding Date: frost, spring or fall. Seeding Rate: 8-10 lb/acre. Size: 2 lb pure live seed (will seed approximately 1/4 acre).
I have not put these seeds in the ground yet but am very pleased with the shipping and nice hand written gesture inside the package. Seeds look very clean.
