High Quality Deer Food Plot Mix

Our perennial blend of red and white clovers, alfalfa, and chicory is the perfect choice for maximum nutrition for deer. Fast growing and long lasting, this mix will be the first thing the deer will hit in early spring and will continue to provide food through hunting season.

Easy to Plant and Maintain

This mix can be frost seeded with a seeding depth of 1/4 - 1/2 inch. The recommended seeding rate is 6-8 lb/ac, and it can be planted in frost, spring, or fall. Available in a 3 lb size that will seed approximately 1/2 acre or a 50 lb bag, this mix includes 33% Medium Red Clover, 33% Alfalfa, 17% Ladino White Clover, and 17% Chicory.

Optimal Growth with Soil Testing

For best results, we recommend conducting a soil test to determine the best lime and fertilizer recommendations. If a soil test is not available, apply 0-30-30 (N-P2O5-K20) at planting to ensure optimal growth and nutrition for the deer. Give your deer the best food plot possible with our high quality mix.

CAC Food Plot Mix

I’ve been using Hale Habitat seed for my food plots for several years. Prior to that I planted other types of food plot seed. By far Hale Habitat seed yields far more plant growth and lasts longer before replanting is needed. I’ve also started planting Fall Buffet every year with great success. In my experience, Hale Habitat & Seed is the best food plot seed you can buy, and my trophy room shows the results.

Great product and service.

Customer service was great by the company. Delivery service lost package, they sent another for free without hesitation. Worked directly with seller. Planted in early-mid March. Clover has popped well, I haven’t noticed any alfalfa or chicory, but my soil quality is admittedly junk so the fact that the clover even grew impressed me. Nothing else has grown there well at all.
