Sugar Beet Seed - 5 lb bag. Sugar beets are a hardy crop that can adapt to a variety of soils. Deer will eat both the tops and the roots. Best planted as a single crop as it does not tolerate competition from mixes well.
Seeding depth: 1/4 - 1/2 inch. Seeding date: late spring. Seeding rate: 8-10 (broadcast), 3-4 lb/ac (drilled). Size: 5 lbs will seed approximately a 1/2 acre.
Soil test for best lime and fertilizer recommendations. If no soil test available, apply 40-30-30 (N-P2O5-K20) at planting.
